Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce remarkably manufacturing cost, by fixing a sacrificial anode to the container surface of a submersible motor and by performing cathodic protective over the submersible motor itself.
CONSTITUTION: A circular sacrificial anode 2 is fixed via an insulating material 3 to the lower part of the surface of the container body 1 composed of stainless steel, and the anode 2 is electrically connected with an upper flange 1a by an conductor 4. Insulating putty 6 is applied to a binding metal 5 which fixed the anodic electrode 2 to prevent the flow of a focal current between the anodic electrode 2 and the binding metal 5. It is preferable that the anodic electrode 2 is made of Al or an Al alloy. When the submersible motor is submerged in sea water, the anodic electrode 2 is dissolved and an electric current flows from the anodic electrode 2 to the body 1, the upper bracket 1a and the lower bracket 1b. On the other hand, a current flows in the conductor 4 from the main body of the submersible motor to the anodic electrode 2. Thus, the surface potential of the submerrible motor is kept low so that corrosion preventive effect can be obtained.
