Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a seat height adjusting device which is capable of adjusting a seat height independently in front and rear sides, by providing an operating mechanism, front and rear locking mechanisms, and front and rear lifting mechanisms. CONSTITUTION:A rear lock cam 25 and a front lock cam 26 pivoted rotatably to a shaft 20 have arch-shaped long holes 28, 29 respectively and are urged at their lower end by a spring 27 so that the cams 25, 26 can be engaged with a hook member 24 at flange parts 33, 34. A rear lock link 35 is fixed by pins 36, 37 to slide along the long hole 28. The pin 36 is engaged with the recessed part of a rear ratch member 39. One end of a rear lift link 43 is supported by a rear bracket 44, while one end of a torsion spring 48 is engaged with an engaging part 47 of a retaining link 46. A front ratch member 50 has a rod 51 which slides along a long hole 31 and a recessed part 52 which is engaged with a pin 54. A front lift link 55 is pivoted by a front bracket 58.
