Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform precise measurement by providing an upper head having two irradiating windows and a lower head which has one light receiving window and faces said upper head, and by providing a constitution wherein the light transmitted through the specimen paper placed between said both heads and the scattered light enter the receiving window via a light screening plate. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light source 50 is inputted to a rotary reactor 41 through a lens 51, and also through a reflecting mirror 53 and a lens 52. Through a reference light filter 42 and a measuring light filter 43 provided in the rotary sector 41, the reference light and the measuring light are inputted to irradiating windows 11 and 12 in the upper head 10, respectively. The light from the incident window 11 is transmitted through the specimen paper 30 and inputted into a sensor 25 via an incident window 21, with the scattering being repeated. On the other hand, the light from the incident window 12 is transmitted through the specimen paper 30, and inputted to the sensor 25. From the ratio between these output signals, the signal in which the amount of the water is compensated is obtained. Since the variation in gap X0 is compensated by the light screening plate 24 provided in the incident window 21, the highly precise measurement can be performed.
