Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide strength and surface smoothness comparable with those of a metallic cylinder by rolling cellulose fiber paper impregnated with a thermosetting synthetic resin to a desired thickness, shaping the rolled paper into a tubular body, and forming a photosensitive layer made of photoconductive layer on the surface of the tubular body. CONSTITUTION:Cellulose fiber paper impregnated with a thermosetting synthetic resin such as phenol resin or melamine resin is rolled to a desired thickness and shaped into a tubular body having a desired outside diameter by heating and pressurization from the circumferential direction. On the surface of the tubular body a photosensitive layer based on a photoconductive layer is formed to manufacture an electrophotographic receptor. In order to allow the photosensitive layer to well show the electrophotographic performance, it is suitable to adjust the volume resistivity to <=10<9>OMEGAcm by adding or impregnating various kinds of electrically conductive agents to the material sheet. The conductive agents include NaCl, carbon black and metallic powder.
