Abstract
PURPOSE:The titled fiber that is composed of a high-polymerization degree polymer as the core component and a polyester containing 5-sodiosulfoisophthalate units, thus being high in strength, cation-dye dyeable, flexible and giving high-class raised cloth with high velvety touch. CONSTITUTION:Extremely fine conjugate fiber of less than 0.5 denier is composed of a polymer mainly consisting of ethylene terephthalate or butylene terephthalate units as the core part A or the binding component A' and of a copolymer consisting mainly of ethylene terephthalate or butylene terephthalate units and of more than 1.8mol%, based on the total acid components, of 5-sodiosulfoisophthalate units as the sheath component B or the bonded component B'. Further, as the components A and A', is used a polymer more than 0.08 higher than the components B and B' in intrinsic viscosity, preferably made by solid-phase polymerization, and, when necessary, the above extremely fine conjugate fiber are bundled with the third component C.
