Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect easily the position and the direction of advance of a moving body only by using speed sensors, by measuring velocity components in the same direction by two velocity sensors out of three sets on the moving body and a velocity component in the direction intersecting the former at a right angle by the remaining one sensor, and by subjecting measurement signals to operational processing. CONSTITUTION:Velocities VA and VB in the direction perpendicular to a segment AB are measured by velocity sensors 21 and 22 out of sensors 21-23 set on points A-C on a moving body 1, while a velocity VC in the direction of the segment AB is measured by the sensor 23. Signals VB and VA are transduced into a rotational angle theta (direction) around the point A by multiplying a time integration of (VB-VA) by the inverse figure of the length of the segment AB through the intermediary of a subtracter 31, an integrator 41 and a multiplier 51, and are delivered. Meanwhile, signals VA and VC are inputted in multipliers 54-57 and multiplied by cosine and sine signals generated by a cosine generator 71 and a sine generator 81 for the output theta of an adder 15, while a segment AC is multiplied by the cosine and sine signals in multipliers 52 and 53. Values thus obtained are subjected to operational processing through the intermediary of subtracters 32, 33, adders 91, 92 and integrators 42, 43, and thus the position of the point A is calculated.
