Abstract
PURPOSE: To economically obtain uniform plating having superior adhesive strength and partial electric conductivity without deteriorating the touch of cloth by partially activating sensitized cloth with an activator and subjecting it to electroless plating.
CONSTITUTION: Cloth made of natural fiber, regenerated fiber or synthetic fiber is immersed in a sensitizing soln. contg. about 2W40g/l stannous chloride and about 10W20ml/l hydrochloric acid for about 1W10min, washed in water, and dried. A water soluble high molecular substance such as wheat starch is added to an activating soln. contg. about 0.1W0.3g/l palladium chloride and about 3W5ml/l hydrochloric acid or an activating soln. contg. about 0.5W5g/l silver nitrate and ammonia added by an adequate amount to make the soln. transparent. By applying the prepared water soluble paste to the pretreated cloth in the desired shape, the cloth is partially activated. The activated cloth is dried, washed in water, and washed in hot water to remove the unnecessary activator and high molecular substance, and it is chemically plated with Cu or Ni.
