A parameter assigning means 22, consisting of, for example, an RAM, is mounted to the printer 1, and a parameter, indicating the number of copying papers, is written by means of a switch operating in conformity with a platen position changing corresponding to a manual operation from a key board and the number of copying papers. When a printer starts printing, the printer control part 21 changes a drive time width (moving distance/speed) through changing of a current, with which a drive magnet is charged, by means of the written dada.
