Abstract

PURPOSE:To control temperature rise and improve reliability, by using magnetic material of cobalt-radical amorphous metal of particular composition for a saturable reactor core. CONSTITUTION:A switching device 1 which turns ON and OFF cyclically is connected in series to the primary winding 3 of a transformer 2. A saturable reactor 5 and a rectifier 6 are connected in series to the secondary winding 4 of the transformer 2. A control circuit 7 is provided to stabilize DC voltage between output terminals of the rectifier 6. Magnetic material of cobalt-radical amorphous metal with indication of CoaMbXc composition for a saturable reactor 5 core in a magnetic amplifier system to control saturable reactor 5 control current. Where, Co, M and X stand for cobalt element, metal element except Co and nonmetal element, and are 50<=a, 30>=b and 30>=c in atomic percentage respectively. And yet, a+b+c=100 should be established.
