CONSTITUTION:A light beam emitted 2 from a semiconductor laser 1 is passed through the 1st and 2nd convergent lenses 10 and 11 to obtain a parallel beam, which is reflected by a recording medium to illuminate a detector 9. The parallel beam has a 0.6mum diameter. Consequently, even when a recording medium moves up and down, recorded information is read.
