Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate control of ink cell depth in accordance with the density of an original, by giving desirable opacity to a photosensitive material with respect to projected light in manufacturing a gravure plate using a photodecomposable light sensitive material. CONSTITUTION:An opaque substance, such as aluminum oxide or crystal violet is mixed with a photodecomposable light sensitive resin, such as poly-n-butyl methacrylate to give a desirable degree of opacity when irradiated with light. Cells 11 for use in gravure formed in a base material 1 in advance are filled with a photodecomposable light sensitive resin 12, a continuous gradation negative original 4 is brought into contact with the cells 11, and the cells 11 are irradiated with light from an arrow direction to photodecompose the upper parts of the resin 12 shallow in the parts corresponding to the parts of the genative 4 high in density, and deep in the parts corresponding to the parts low in density. A gravure plate changing in cell depth in accordance with the density of the original is formed by developing the resin 12 in the cells 11.
