Abstract
PURPOSE:To form easily a very shallow recessed mark so that this mark can be recognized vividly in the water-wet state similarly to the unwet state, by irradiating a laser beam to a swelled soft contact lens to form recess parts. CONSTITUTION:A soft contact lens is swelled in water, and water stuck to the surface is wiped away, and, for example, a pulse oscillation CO2 gas laser beam is irradiated to the circumferential parts other than the optical part to mark the value of lens data. By this method, the soft contact lens is marked more shallowly and accurately in comparison with the conventional marking after drying, and the lens which stands the test is prevented from being rejected by the distortion or the like caused by marking, and it is difficult that dirt such as eye mucus is stuck to the soft contact because the mark recess is shallow, and thus, a comfortable lens is obtained with a high workability.
