Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce the titled fine resin in good yields within a short time, by reacting urea with a formaldehyde in a reaction system having a specified water content, adding a silicone.glycol copolymer and zinc stearate before the completion of the reaction and then vacuum-dehydrating the reaction mixture.
CONSTITUTION: A reaction system is set at a water content of 13W25wt%. In this state, urea and a formaldehyde are reacted and, just before the completion of the reaction, a silicone.glycol copolymer and zinc stearate are added. Because the solid urea resin obtained by the subsequent vacuum-dehydration and drying is in the form like that obtained when it contains a releasing agent in the particles, the amount of the resin adhering to the vacuum drier is decreased and, therefore, the yield is improved. Moreover, because the formation of the secondary agglomerates after grinding is decreased and the resin can be obtained in the form of extremely fine particles, the drying time is shortened and, accordingly, the production time is shortened.
