Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The reaction between urea and formaldehyde such as formalin of 37% concentration or parafomaldehyde is conducted so that the water content is kept at 13W25wt% in the reaction system. Then, a substance forming an azeotropic mixture with water and boiling at a lowest temperature such as methanol is added the reaction mixture right before completion of the reaction preferably by about 30wt% and the resultant mixture is dried by dehydration under vacuum to produce the objective solid urea resin of fine particles.
