Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently perform the treatment of waste fermentation gas and the acceleration of fermentation, by arranging an aerobic fermenting part for neutralized sludge and a part for removing ammonia from the waste fermentation gas, and blowing the waste fermentation gas to raw sludge.
CONSTITUTION: Raw dewatered cake is thrown through a feed line 1 into a neutralizing part 2', where the cake is neutralized into a sludgy state having a conditioned pH value suited to fermentation by CO2 in waste fermentation gas. The sludge is thrown through a transfer line 3' into a fermenting vat 4, where the sludge is aerobically fermented for about 10 days and converted into compost, and then discharged from the vat. Carbonic acid gas, steam, ammonia and other trace malodorous components are discharged from the flow through an exhaust duct 11 to do heat-exchange, and introduced into an acid-washing part 15, where alkaline odorous components such as ammonia in the exhaust gas are removed by scrubber-washing with a sulfuric acid.
