Abstract

PURPOSE:To have a differential steering device with its overall height suppressed compared with any conventional type of device using two vertical shafts, by driving one of the drive shafts through an intermediate steering shaft, which is equipped with a stepless transmission to be driven by the other drive shaft. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate steering shaft 40 is installed on those two drive shafts 36A, 36B differential steering device 34 which are for driving the left and right trucks. In this arrangement, one drive shaft 36A rotates said intermediate shaft through a chain 108 in the same direction at the same speed, and the intermediate shaft 40 rotates the other drive shaft 36B at a changed speed through a V-belt type stepless speed-change device 110. If, now, the steering wheel 26 is rotated, counteclockwise for example, the speed change device 110 shifts the disc 106A rightwise with the aid of rods 132, 134 etc. Thus the winding diameter of the V-belt 112 around the sheave 106 is increased.
