Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a stable and excellent-SN-ratio information recording carrier by forming a coating of alloy of metal having a high melting point and high corrosion resistance and metal having high reflectivity or a high dielectric constant or base metal on the surface of a base material, made of an organic macromolecule, having grooves. CONSTITUTION:In one surface of a discoidal or tapelike base materal 1 using an organic macromolecule such as vinyl chloride, grooves or lines of pits 2 for recording information are formed. On this surface, a coating film 3 of alloy of metal having a relatively high melting point and high corrosion resistance and metal having relatively high reflectivity or a dielectric constant or base metal is formed. As the metal having a relatively high melting point and high corrosion resistance, Ni, Cr, Fe, Co, Mn, Ti, V, Ta, Nb, Mo, W, Hf, Zr, Au, Ag, Pt, etc., are usable. As the metal having a relatively high reflectivity or a dielectric constant or base metal, Al, Sn, Cu, Mg, Sb, As, Se, etc., are usable.
