Abstract

PURPOSE:To supply only prescribed parts, by providing a shape recognizer made of optical fiber plates, at the send-out edge of a parts feeder and by connecting the recognizer to a microcomputer. CONSTITUTION:A light emission and a light reception optical fiber plates 6 for recognizing the shape of a conveyed element 15 and an air nozzle for returning the element are provided near the end of the conveyance passage 3 of a vibrating parts feeder 1. A right/left inverter 8 and an inside/outside inverter 7 are provided downstream to the plates 6 and the nozzle 5. As a result, the trued-up element 10 is discharged. The prescribed shapes of the elements are stored in a microcomputer 10 which acts as a main unit for control. The recognized shape is compared with the stored one so that sorting, right/left inversion and inside/outside inversion can be effected.
