Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of Joule heat, by unifying a magneto-resistance effect type reproduced element and a recording thin film inductive head element and at the same time unifying a permanent magnet magnetized in the uniaxial direction at the area close to both said elements. CONSTITUTION:A magneto-resistance effect type reproduced element 2 is unified with a recording thin film inductive head element 16 on a substrate 1. At the same time, a DC bias magnetic field HX is applied to the element 2 vertically to the traveling surface of a recording medium 10, and at the same time a bias magnetic field HY which is equivalent to or larger than the coercive force of the medium 10 is applied at a magnetic gap part of the element 16 and in the traveling direction of the medium 10. For this purpose, a permanent magnet 12 magnetized in the uniaxial direction 13 is provided. Thus the recording current which causes Joule heat can be reduced at the recording side by setting the magnetic fields HX and HY. Furthermore, the process of production is simplified at the reproducing side.
