Abstract

PURPOSE:To transmit the signal with no contact and to realise the DC transmission, by trasmitting and receiving the signal between the circuits of a rotary part and a nonrotrary part via the light. CONSTITUTION:With application of an input signal, a light emitting diode (LED) 7 provided to a fixed cylinder 2 is driven by an LED driving circuit 6. Accordingly a photodiode (PHD)8 set at the position near the rotary shaft of a rotary cylinder 1 is irradiated. The rocording is carried out on a magnetic tape by the output of the PHD8 via a recording circuit 9 and a recording head 4. In the reproduction mode, the output of a reproducing head 5 is turned into a digital signal via a reproducing/amplifying circuit 10 and a waveform shaping circuit 17. The digital signal is fed to an LED11 provided at the position near the rotary shaft of the cylinder 1, and a PHD12 is irradiated by the light of the LED11. The output of the PHD12 is turned into an output signal after amplified by an amplifier 13. The power of the circuits 9, 10 and 17 in the cylinder 1 are supplied from a light source 15 and a solar battery 14. In such way, the signal is transmitted with no contact, and at the same time the DC transmission is possible.
