Abstract
PURPOSE:To independently finding out the maximum condition of a C/N and the minimum condition of the even-order distortion and to attain highly reliable recording of magneto-optical reproducing signal by independently controlling the peak power and bottom power of a laser at the time of magneto-optical/ thermomagnetic recording. CONSTITUTION:A laser driving circuit 11 drives a laser 12 on the basis of a modulation input 10 and a diode 13 monitors the output of the laser 12 and inputs the monitored output to a peak follower 15 and a bottom follower 16 through an I/V converter 14. Then, a peak current control signal is found out from the output of the peak follower 15 and a peak setting voltage 17, a bottom current control signal 20 is obtained from the output of the bottom follower 16 and a bottom setting voltage 18 and these signals are supplied to a peak limitter and a bottom limitter in the circuit 11. Thus, the maximum condition of the carrier-to-noise rate and the minimum condition of the even-numbered distortion are independently found out and highly reliable magneto-optical reproduced signal recording can be attained.
