Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain stable signal transmission, by sampling a transmitting signal with a high speed pulse, and driving and modulating a laser with the signal, in an optical signal transmitter. CONSTITUTION:An interface code is converted into a binary pulse signal at a code conversion section 1, sampled at a sampling circuit 15 with an output of a high frequency pulse generator 14, and controls a current of a laser diode 3 with a driving circuit 2 and an optical pulse is transmitted to an optical fiber transmission system 13. At a reception side, an optical signal is converted into an electric signal with a photodetector 6, amplified at an amplifying circuit 7, and an original signal is obtained through a waveform equalizer 8 having a low pass filter characteristic and a discriminating reproducing circuit 12 for the reception signal. In the Figure, circuits 4 and 5 at transmission side are stabilizing circuits for laser output light, circuits 9 and 10 at reception side are AGC circuits and a circuit 11 is a pickup circuit for a timing signal.
