Abstract

PURPOSE: To store seawater in a place higher than the sea level, by connecting a plurality of floats to each other through a pipe for conducting the seawater in the proceeding direction of waves and by fitting the floats with valves which allow the seawater to flow in one direction and by vertically moving the floats with time lag proportional to the interval between the floats.
CONSTITUTION: A float 1 whose upper part is a tank and whose lower part is a pipe and other floats 4, 9 whose upper parts are tanks 2, 7 and which are provided with balancing weights 6, 11 are connected to each other trough a pipe 14 and coupling units 13, 15, 17, 18, 20 provided with valves which allows seawater to flow in the proceeding direction of waves. When the through of the wave has come to the float 1, the valve 23 is opened so that the seawater flows in through a pipe 21 and the water level 12 in the float 1 approaches the average sea level 24. When the peak of the wave has come to the float 1 and the trough of the wave has come to the float 4, the valve 23 is closed so that the seawater flows into the tank 2 through the coupling units 13, 15, 17 and the the water level 16 in the tank 2 approaches that 12 in the float 1. The seawater can thus be stored in a place higher than the average sea level and be used as an energy source.
