Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve printing quality by a device wherein an ink solvent is injected to a filter nearest to an ink jet head in an ink supply channel, so that the effect of such ink injection appears in ink droplets immediately. CONSTITUTION:When a degree of ink viscosity in increased, a flying speed of ink droplets jetted from an ink jet head 2 is lowered and hence an amount of deflection is also reduced. Thus, the reduction of this deflection amount is conventionally detected by a deflection amount detector 5 and then the operation of an ink pressure pump 1 is controlled correspondingly. If the detected deflection amount exceeds a limit value, a control unit 6 will issue an ink solvent injecting instruction signal (a), thereby to drive an ink solvent injecting pump 7. Upon this, during a very short period of time while a carriage of the printer is returned, a very small amount of ink solvent is supplied to a last filter 3 and mixed with ink therein.
