Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a T cell in high purity and high yield without giving an immune stimulus to the cell, by using a water soluble hydrophobic solid having the porous surface as a selective separating material of T cell. CONSTITUTION:A T cell separator is a column 3 provided with an entrance 1 and an exit 2 of a leukocyte floating liquid and washing liquid in which a filter 4 having a mean pore diameter not flowing out a T cell separating material is attached to the exit 2 and the T cell separating material 5 consisting of a hydrophobic, water insoluble and porous granular solid having >=500Angstrom and <5,000Angstrom mean pore diameter and having >=40mu and <75mu grain diameter in water, is filled up in the column 3. In order to separate the T cell from the leukocyte, the leulocyte prepared from blood is floated in the liquid containing >=2g/dl protein at first. Said liquid is poured into the separator and an outflow is stopped at a point of time of finishing the permeation to the material 5 and it is left as it is for a fixed time. Hereafter, the T cell is separaed by washing out unadhering cell by flowing the washing liquid.
