Abstract

PURPOSE: To give separation capacity higher than treating capacity of a large diameter separation tower, by a method wherein a scale-upped large diameter column is divided into columns with small cross areas and a plurality of the obtained independent columns are used.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of columns with small cross areas, of which the total cross are corresponds to the cross area of a scale-upped large diameter column are formed so as to be arranged in parallel with the flow direction of a liquid. Cross areas of each columns are pref. 0.03W3m2 and the shapes thereof are pref. a cylindrical form. In addition, the lower limit valve of the min side of the divided small cross area is pref. 20 times of the average particle size of a packing agent (adsorbent) to be packed. As the result, not only various problems generated by scaling up the shape of an adsorbative separation tower are solved but the lowering of separation capacity can be suppressed and various effects, wherein it is unnecessary to increase pressure resistance of an apparatus related to the columns and economical load required therein is eliminated, are generated. Either one of figures is a cross-sectional view showing a practical situation.
