Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the heat generated by an arc at the tap changing time and a current limiting resistor within a predetermined range and to simplify the construction by providing a cooling system separately from a transformer body to cool an on-load tap changing element. CONSTITUTION:A transformer body 11 made of core, coils is contained in a tank 1 filling insulating gas, e.g., SF6 or the like, a chamber 2 partitioned from insulating gas at one side in the tank 1 is formed, and an on-load tap changing element 21 having a current limiting resistor is contained therein together with insulating gas, e.g., SF6 or the like. Then, a cooler 3 of integral molding is connected via tubes 61, 62 to the tank 1 and the chamber 2, and the first cooler 31 for cooling the main body 11 and the second cooler 32 for cooling the element 21 are partitioned with a partition wall 4. Blowers 61, 62 for forcibly circulating insulating gas for the coolers 31, 32 are respectively provided, and a blower 7 for blowing air externarlly is arranged for the entire cooler 3. Thus, even if one gas of the cooler is deteriorated, it does not affect the influence to the other.
