Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the cooling performance of the entire tap changer by surrounding the periphery of a current limiting resistor forming the tap changer provide in a gas-insulated and evaporation cooled transformer with a metallic container and dropping droplet refrigerant along the outer wall of the container. CONSTITUTION:The change-over switch 3 of the on-load tap changer is hung from the head base 1 of a transformer tank 2 into the tank 2, and the periphery of the switch 3 surrounded by an insulating container 6. Then, the current limiting resistor 7 disposed under the switch 3 is surrounded by the metallic container 17 connected to the container 6, the inner wall of the container 17 is confronted with the resistor 7, and the case 5 for the driving mechanism and the tap selector 4 are arranged at the lower end of the container 7. In this structure an annular pipe 18 having a number of nozzle holes 18a is provided while surrounding the container 6 on the lower surface of the tank 2, Freon gas is flowed thereto using cooling means 19, gas 16 becoming droplets is flowed down along the container 6 and further on the surface of the container 17, thereby lowering the temperature of the resistor 7 in the container 17.
