Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the pressure in the bellows of a vacuum switch, by providing such a seal-up tank that the pressure of gas in an upper space in a switch chamber containing a vacuum switch is kept lower than the atmospheric pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The seal-up tank 12 is coupled to the switch chamber 2 containing the vacuum switch 11. The interior of the tank 12 is divided into chambers 14, 15 by a partition wall 13. Both the chambers 14, 15 are connected to each other throug lower passage. One of the upper spaces of the chambers 14, 15 communicates with the external air through a pipe 7 and a humidity absorption breathing apparatus 8 and the other communicates with the gas space 9 of the switch chamber 2, which is higher than the level h1 of oil. Sealing oil is contained in the tank 12. The level h2 of the sealing oil in the chamber 14 is by H2 lower than that h2' of the oil in the chamber 15. The pressure on the switch 11 located in oil at a level by H1 lower than the level h1 of the oil in the switch chamber 2 is equal to (atmospheric pressure)-(head of H2)+(head of H1). Therefore, the switch suffers from no excessive pressure.
