PURPOSE:To detect precisely an actual velocity of a synchronous motor by conducting an operation for preestimation of a present actual velocity according to the characteristic formula of the synchronous motor by using a past current instruction value and a past detection speed every time when an interrupt signal of a constant cycle is generated. CONSTITUTION:FF402 is set by a pulse Pa generated from a pulse generator 102 fitted to the shaft of a synchronous motor, while being reset by a velocity operation end signal OPEN generated from a processing unit 113. An interrupt pulse generating circuit 403 generates a velocity operation interrupt pulse ITP of a constant cycle. When the pulse ITP is generated at a time, the unit 113 senses the state of setting of FF402. When FF402 is not set, the unit 113 executes an operation of a prescribed formula by using a past detection speed V(K-1) and a past current instruction IS(K-2) which are stored in a data memory 113c, and thereby preestimates the velocity of rotation V(K). Then, by taking the velocity V(K) as an actual velocity, the difference between the same and an instructed velocity VD is determined, and based thereon, a primary-current instruction is delivered to a synchronous motor 101.
