Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the automatic compensation for the offset of an A/D converter, by averaging the digital value obtained through an A/D converter after storage for a prescribed time and then subtracting the above-mentioned digital value.
CONSTITUTION: The sample value digitized by an A/D converter 2 is stored in a memory 3 for a prescribed time and then averaged through an averaging part 4. Then the output of the part 4 is subtracted from the output of the converter 2. In such a way, the output of the part 4 is equal to the output DC component of the converter 2, i.e., the degree of the desired offset adjustment. Accordingly, the output of a subtractor 5 is identical with the signal obtained by subtracting the DC component from the output of the converter 2. Thus the offset of the converter 2 is automatically compensated.
