Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the TV video signal which is optimum visually by providing the means with which the S/N improvement degree is varied by the frequency distribution of the level and the noise component of the input video signal.
CONSTITUTION: The video signal sent from terminal 1 is changed to PCM via A/D converter 2 and then applied to frame memory 5 which stors the signals eqivalent to one frame via 1st coefficient unit 3 and adder 4. The signals given from memory 5 are supplied to adder 4 via 2nd coefficient unit 8 after the phase correction given to the burst signal via chroma inverter 7. At the same time, the difference between the output of converter 2 and inverter 7 is drawn out through subtractor 9 and then sent to motion detector 10, and the component obtained through movement of the video signal as well as the noise component is set at a higher level than the noise component. Then a fixed threshold level is given to detector 10, and the S/N improvement action is varied based on the fact whether the difference signal between frames is higher or lower than the threshold level. And the output of adder 4 is delivered via D/A converter 6.
