Abstract

PURPOSE:To reuse a worn-out magnetic tape for production of a new elongated tape without using any solvent and without any pollution of an operational environment, by elongating the magnetic tape with a proper elongating magnification to apply a strain to a magnetic substance layer, and then removing the magnetic substance with a physical power. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape T is elongated with a proper elongating magnification (1.2-4.0 fold) by an elongator 1, to apply a strain to a magnetic substance layer adhered onto the magnetic tape. Thereafter, the magnetic substance is stripped and removed by a method to apply a physical power, e.g. rubbing a doctor knife 2. Thus, an objective elongated tape is obtained. The separated magnetic substance is sucked through a suction hole 3 by an exhaust fan 15, and fed through a suction pipe 4 and then an introduce pipe 5 into a cyclone 6. Into the cyclone 6, water in a separator 10 is sprayed from a nozzle 12a through a conduit 12 by a pump 13. The magnetic substance, which inflew into the cyclone 6, flows with the water into the separator, and separated from the water.
