Abstract

PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce the increase in transmission of light due to the increase in number of stages of branching, by converting signal information for a sequence controller into an optical signal and distributing this optical signal to each operating device through the use of optical fibers and optical branching couplers. CONSTITUTION:Optical transmitters 2a and 4a which convert output electric signals of sequence controller 1 and an operating device 3 into optical signals, and photodetectors 2b and 4b which receive the optical signals transmitted from the transmitters 2a and 4a and convert them into electric signals, are provided. An optical transmission line 10 consisting of an optical fiber cable 11 and optical branching couplers 12-1-12-32 transmitting and distributing the optical signals, is provided between the optical transmitter photodetector 2a and 2b at the controller side 1 and those 4a and 4b at the operating device 3 side. The signal information of the controller 1 and the device 3 is transmitted in the form of the optical signals.
