Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the thermal stress at the junction parts between the tube plates and the shell by a structure wherein the thermal expansion and contraction of the tube plates applied to the shell part of the heat exchanger is dispersed by dividing the tube plates concentrically into two parts and as well as connecting said two parts stepwise. CONSTITUTION:The tube plate 1' concentriclly divided from the tube plate 1 and said tube plate 1 jointed to the shell 2 at the part A are connected stepwise with each other through a connecting part 7. Owing to the structure as described above the expansions or contractions of the tube plates 1 and 1' due to the fluctuation of temperature of heat transfer media in plenum chambers 4 and 5 are dispersed by means of the junction points B and C of the connecting part 7, resulting in enabling to reduce the thermal stress at the junction part A with the shell 2 and consequently to prevent the crack and strain due to said thermal stress from occurring.
