Abstract
PURPOSE:To absorbe hydraulic pressure fluctuation induced by a screw propeller, thereby the generation of vibration is minimized, by forming a recess in the bottom of a ship tail above the screw propeller and by covering the recess with a resilient shell plating. CONSTITUTION:A screw propeller 1 is arranged below the tail part of a hull 2, and a recess 4 is formed in the bottom 3 of the tail part just above the screw propeller 1. The opening part of the recess 4 is covered with a resilient shell plating 5 made of rubber synthetic resin or the like. The resilient shell plating 5 is provided so that the stream of the tail part is not disturbed, further an inner cross-member 6 as a reinforcing member is provided as occasion demands. Accordingly, hydraulic pressure fluctuation due to the rotation of the screw propeller 1 is absorbed by the resilient shell plating 5, thereby vibration exerted to the hull is reduced.
