Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a slidable contacting part from seizing and fretting, by a method wherein a torque tube or cold damper at the slidable contacting part is hardened by the hardening padding welding or the like. CONSTITUTION:A torque tube 2 and a cold damper 5 are joined together at a slidable connecting part 17. In this case, however, a hardened padded layer 18 is provided at said connecting part 17 by built-up-welding the part where the torque tube 2 contacts with the inner circumferential surface 5a of the cold damper 5. In addition, a similar effect can be obtained by a method wherein said connecting part is hardened by nitriding flame-spraying or the like, or a method wherein the surface is oxidized to form an oxide film on heating and a chemical treatment, or a method wherein the surface is coated with a material which hardly seizes and frets by plating, cladding spraying or the like.
