Abstract

PURPOSE:To make high potential of bias applying voltage unnecessary and to prevent a toner carrying material from damages, by providing an electric charging means to charge a toner image carrying material which is driven to rotate and a residual toner on the surface of the carrying material. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor drum 1 on which a residual toner T0 is stuck is rotated in a direction (a) and reaches the position opposed to a charger 2 and thereby the toner T0 and the surface are charged in positive polarity. The drum 1 is further rotated and at the position of a cleaning blade 4, the toner T0 is scraped from the surface of the drum 1 and drops downwards, and is electrostatically a sorbed on a surface of a conductive seal roller 9 which is placed downwards and grounded. As the roller 9 is rotated in a direction (d), the toner T0 is removed from the surface of the roller 9 by an action of a toner scraping plate 10 and is led to the inside of a casing 3 and recovered. With an electric field formed between the surfaces of the roller 9 and the drum 1, the toner T0 is not leaked to the outside of the casing 3 and is recovered in the inside.
