Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a degree of integration with simple constitution, and to enable multitrack recording, by forming a heating resistor, which causes a main magnetic pole to shift in phase, as a thin-film heating resistor. CONSTITUTION:A main magnetic pole 4 is arranged on the opposite side to an auxiliary magnetic pole 1 with a vertical magnetic recording medium 3 between. This main magnetic pole 4 consists of multiple main magnetic poles 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d for multitrack recording on plural magnetic tracks of a magnetic recording medium. On one-side flanks of the multiple main magnetic poles, thin-film heating resistors 5a-5d are formed by electron-beam vapor deposition or sputtering by using, for example, hafnium boride (HfB2) through oxidation preventing films 6a-6b made of, for example, SiO2. Those thin-film heating resistors 5a-5d are connected to a driving circuit 8 through lead wires 9a-9d.
