Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent gold dust substantially from occurring, by subjecting a hot-rolled band steel to heat treatment and predescaling, and carrying out hydrochloric acid and nitric acid pickling treatments on the band steel. CONSTITUTION:The hot-rolled ferrite or martensite stainless steel band that has been heat-treated or has not been heat-treated is subjected to mechanical predescaling such as shot blasting, and then to hydrochloric acid pickling as a first step, and nitric acid pickling as a second step. The nitric acid pickling conditions for improving the rust-proof property after the hydrochloric acid pickling, in the case of ferrite stainless steel, are such that the concentration of HNO3 is on the order of 5-15%, and the solution temperature is on the order of 50-65 deg.C, and in the case of martensite stainless steel, are such that the concentration of HNO3 is on the order of 5-13% and the solution temperature is on the order of 35-60 deg.C, and the dipping period is on the order of 20-40 sec. in both the cases.
