Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize a nonimpaction type printer as well as eliminate friction and noise in its head by a method in which a first permanent magnet is fixed to a printing head, and the printing is pressed on a platen by attraction and repulsion between the first permanent magnet and the second permanent magnet fixed to the first permanent magnet. CONSTITUTION:A heating type printing head 16 is rotatably supported by a shaft 17, and the first permanent magnet 18 is fixed to the projected portion 16a of the back of the head 16. The second permanent magnet 19 is fixed to a supporting base 20 in the face of the permanent magnet 18. The printing head 16 is pressed on a platen 14 by a proper force originated from the magnetic repulsion of the two magnets 18 and 19. Since the printing head 16 moves in no contact with the supporting base 20, no friction occurs, printing disorder can be prevented, and no noise by vibration occurs.
