Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain crystalline silicate useful as a catalyst with high activity and superior selectivity in the conversion reactions of various org. compounds by providing a specified chemical composition.
CONSTITUTION: This novel crystalline silicate is crystalline bismuth silicate having a chemical composition represented by the formula (where R is a uni- or bivalent cation; n is the valence of R; M is a tervalent transition metallic ion and/ or an Al ion; a+b+c=1; a>0; b≥0; and y≥5) when shown by the molar ratio of oxides in the dehydrated form. This crystal body 1 is obtd. by preparing a reactive mixture contg. a silica source, a bismuth source, a transition metallic source and/or an alumina source, an alkali metallic source, water and a specified org. compound such as alcohol, a mixture of alcohol with ammonia, org. amine or ether and by heating the prepared mixture under the conditions of temp. and time required to form the crystalline bismuth silicate. This silicate is useful as a catalyst with high activity and selectivity in the conversion reactions of various org. compounds such as the synthesis of an aromatic hydrocarbon mixture from methanol.
