Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately measure lead concentration, by preventing the contamination of a lead ion extract with a disturbing metal ion by washing away of the latter ion adsorbed on an anion exchange resin with a washing containing ethylenediamine. CONSTITUTION:In step S1, an excessive hydrochloric acid HCl is added to a test solution to dissolve a metal ion contained therein by forming a complex ion with a chlorine ion. In step S2, the complex ion contained in the test solution leaving step S1 is adsorbed on an anion exchange resin. In step S3, the anion exchange resin leaving step S2 is washed with a washing containing ethylenediamine En to remove a metal ion disturbing lead ion Pb<2+>. In step S4, the washing remaining in the anion exchange resin leaving step S3 is washed. In step S5, a complex lead ion PbCl3<-> in the anion exchange resin is extracted and the concentration of the lead ion Pb<2+> is determined in step S6. This enables accurate measurement as the extract contains only Pb<2+>.
