Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent an engine from misfiring upon low load operation and as well to aim at stabilizing the speed of the engine, by providing an air bypass passage connecting between the upstream side of a fuel injector and the downstream side of a throttle valve, in an air intake passage, and by bypassing intake air through the air bypass passage only upon low load operation. CONSTITUTION:The function of a fuel controller is such that Carman vortices generated by a vortex generating column 6 and having a frequency proportional to the volume of intake air are detected by an intake air volume sensor 5, and are delivered to a controller 10 after they are converted into a square wave (a) having a frequency proportional to the vortex frequency. And pulses (b) having a frequency synchronous with the square wave (a) generated in the controller 10 are applied to an injector 3 for drivingly controlling the injector 3. In the above- mentioned fuel controller there is an air bypass passage 11 having one end opened to an intake air passage 1 between the injector 3 and the air intake volume sensor 5 and the other end opened to the air intake passage 1 downstream of a throttle valve 2. Further, a negative pressure responsive valve mechanism 12 utilizing, as its drive source, negative pressure downstream of the throttle valve 2, is disposed in the air bypass passage 11.
