PURPOSE:To provide a recording paper free from deposition of scum onto a thermal head or a sticking phenomenon, by incorporating magnesium aluminum hydroxide or magnesium aluminosilicate into a heat-sensitive recording layer together with a leuco dye and a phenol compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective heat-sensitive recording paper has magnesium aluminum hydroxide (for example, 2.5MgO.Al2O3.xH2O) or magnesium aluminosilicate (for example, MgO.Al2O3.2SiO2.xH2O) incorporated in the heat-sensitive recording layer containing a colorless or light-colored leuco dye and a phenol compound. EFFECT:The rocording paper can endure high-speed recording and a long-time operation.
