Abstract

PURPOSE: To fire raw materials for sintering stably at low equipment and maintenance costs by delivering red hot carbon materials successively onto the surface of the raw materials for sintering which are supplied onto a pallet.
CONSTITUTION: A carbon material charging hopper 18 is installed right after a raw material supply hopper 4. When the carbon materials 18 in the hopper 18 are ignited by a carbon material burner 28 provided in the lower part of the hopper 18, they are fired continuously by the air blown through air blow ports 30. A red hot carbon material delivery feeder 32 is provided at the bottom end of said hopper 18 to deliver the firing red hot carbon materials 34 uniformly onto the raw materials 2 for sintering supplied on a pallet 8 in their width direction. The combustion area is lowered from the surface of the materials 2 in accordance with the movement of the pallel 8, whereby said materials are sintered. A discharge pipe 36 for combustion gases is provided in the upper part of the hopper 18 to discharge the combustion gases generated from the carbon materials. It is possible to fire the raw materials for sintering safely by this method withous installation of any ignition furnaces.
