Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent electrolytic corrosion developed in the reactor section by specifying the connection between the electric circuit and the cooling water piping in a converting device that consists of a thyristor provided with cooling fins and a reactor which is water-cooled. CONSTITUTION:Thyristors 1A and 1B that have cooling fins are connected in series and on their both ends a water cooling resistor 2 and a condenser 3 are connected in this order, and further a water-cooling reactor 4 is connected to the thyristor 1A. The cooling water is passed from a supply water piping 5 through cooling fins 7C-7A in this order, and then the water is passed through the reactor 4, and after this passed through resistors 2A and 2B, and led to the water outlet piping 8 for cooling various sections. Accordingly the cooling water inlet 9 of the reactor 4 and the cooling fin 7A are at the same potential, and the cooling water outlet 10 and the reactor 2A are at the same potential without leaking current, which allows prevention of electrolytic corrosion of the reactor section without taking special countermeasures.
