Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a uniform oxide film and facilitate the positioning of a metallic work supporting mechanism by using the metallic work supporting mechanism of the specific construction in a heat treatment furnace in which an oxide film is formed on the surface of metallic works. CONSTITUTION:A supporting mechanism mounted with plural works 8 to be treated is loaded into the pot 7 of a heat treatment furnace 1 provided with a heater 5 for heating and a steam generator 6, and after a cap 3 is put on, steam is fed from the steam generator 6 while the works are being heated with the heater 5. The oxide film by the steam is formed on the surfaces of the works 8 to be treated. A thermocouple 4 is provided in the spindle 20 of the work supporting mechanism, and the quantity of heat generated by the heater 5 is controlled by the in-furnace temp. measured by this. Since the works 8 are mounted easily to upper and lower mounting arms by means of screw bodies 8a, and are accurately loaded into the pot 7 by the rollers provided in the end part of a leg plate 13, they are easily located and the uniform oxide films are formed.
