Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of pits to be excavated by a method in which plural stages of horizontal holes are formed in the axial direction of pits when improving a soft ground by injecting a soil stabilizer into plural pits excavated and hardening it. CONSTITUTION:During the improving work for a soft ground, a casing 4 is turned by a driver 5 set on a base 10 and lowered by an oil-pressure cylinder 6, whereupon a pit 1 is excavated in soft ground G. After the pit 1 is excavated to a given depth, the cylinder 6 is stopped, and the casing 4 is reversely turned, whereby an excavating blade 17 for horizontal hole, housed in a housing chamber 18 when turning normally the casing 4, is projected by a centrifugal force to excavate the horizontal hole 23. In this case, a soil stabilizer is supplied through the casing 4 and mixed with soil. Afterwards, the casing 4 is normally turned to house the blade 17 in the chamber 18, and the casing 4 is also raised by a given distance for repeating the excavating process for the horizontal hole 23. Thus, soft ground can be improved.
