Abstract
PURPOSE: In hydrogenating selectively acetylene compounds in 4C fraction in the presence of a catalyst containing a noble metal of VIII group under pressure in liquid phase conditions, to promote selective hydrogenation, by adding a small amount of CO to the reaction system in the reaction.
CONSTITUTION: Acetylene compounds in 4C fraction including butadiene are selectively hydrogenated in the presence of a catalyst containing a noble metal of VIII group under pressure in liquid phase conditions by adding a small amount of CO to the reaction system. CO is known to become a catalyst poison, but in this case it is estimated to take a role in promoting activity. The concentration of CO added is preferably 1W100ppm. 0.05W2wt% Rh, Ru, Ir, Pd, Pt, etc. supported on alumina, etc. is preferable as the catalyst. The reaction is carried out at 5W65°C at 3W15kg/cm2G, in a molar ratio of H2 to 4C acetylene of 2W10.
EFFECT: The loss of butadiene is extremely reduced.
